Vaccination Update 23rd September 2021

Dear Patients,

From this weekend some of our patients aged over 65 will start to receive a letter from the surgery inviting them to book for a flu vaccine. Not everyone will receive an invitation straight away as not all of the vaccine is being delivered at once. The first vaccine clinic for this age group is being held on October 9th.

We realise that NHS England have also sent out letters which is very confusing. Please only book if you have received a letter from Balmore Park Surgery.

Those of you who have online access either through the surgery or through the NHS App can easily book your appointment online. Otherwise you can telephone to book your appointment, but please do not telephone to book if you haven’t yet received your Balmore Park invitation, or to ask when you are getting it, as this blocks our reception team from answering calls to those who need more pressing medical treatment. Please be assured that providing the vaccine deliveries happen, all eligible patients will be offered a vaccine before the end of November.

The Covid booster vaccinations will be given separately. If you are fortunate enough to be invited by the National Booking Service of NHS England, please do go ahead and book with them. It will not stop you from receiving your flu vaccine and will mean that you will receive your booster sooner.

We will be making arrangements to vaccinate housebound patients soon.

You will not be able to receive a Covid Vaccination Booster until 6 months after your second dose.

Thank you
Balmore Park Surgery
